My responsibilities included maintaining the Art Director's vision, training and providing feedback to external partners, polishing props, and optimizing them.
The External Development team worked on approximately 200 props for this project, ranging from more complex asset like the fish tank, statue hand, and detailed containers, to light fixtures, crates, and barrels. The goal of Studio External Art Director Scott Russell was to be consistent with movie and canon references, always focusing on creating motivated weathering, grime, and edge wear on textures. When needed, we elevated the quality of props by adding a sense of construction and functionality without losing the overall intent of the prop.
These props were used in the whole game by both external and internal teams, depending on whether they were region-specific or generic props. They were beautifully created by artists from our partner team EA Create and external partners, including Pixel Mafia and Virtuos.
